| bigdog_1977's Full Review: Philips CDR770 CD Recorder |
OH BOY!!! I remember bringing my 770 home and setting it up. Now I'm cooking! THEN, Memorex CD's won't work. Neither would Maxell's. Then I found TDK's. They would. Then I found out that if you aren't there watching it every second, you will end up w/ 20 songs and only one track! WHAT A BUMMER!!! Going thru 10 CD's to get one good one is not what I would call a "low cost high performance CD recorder".After i had it for a year, I started having trouble getting the TDK's to work. Thank God I bought the extended warranty. Best Buy had to put a new board in it. Then, the salesman mentions CD-RW"s "WHAT?" Ok, here I go again. Getting to put my vinyl on CD's is great. I had no problem filling my time up. Every spare minute was devoted to that 770. Six months later, back to Best Buy. This time, they can't fix it. SO they gave me another one. NOW, my TDK CD-RW's won't work. BUT, Maxell's will. I call Phillips to complain. A lot of good that did me. "You should be using only Phillips CD's". So off I go to buy some. Nothing. I give up. I wish I had waited till the technology had worked out all the bugs.
