| corporateCEO's Full Review: Pioneer PD-M406 6-Disc CD Changer |
My system is actually a Pioneer PD-M423, but is very close to the 406 model. It has a 6-disc CD changer, which makes things convenient to load, and I can also pop it into my Ford Explorer and it will still work with that system.
However, after a year or two of use, the player now frequently skips. It gets very frustrating after you get wrapped up in a song to get cut off. And it not only cuts off, but often switches to the next CD altogether. Maybe its just a crystal problem, but its beyond my fixing abilites.
The programming function is also confusing. I found myself aimlessly pressing buttons hoping that something will work. It was to no avail. I must resort to the operating manual.
All in all, if you can keep this CD player in a very stabile area where it won't be bumped AT ALL, and use a great level of caution when handling the magazine, then you might not have problems for a good amount of time. But who is to say? I can no longer take the skipping, and now have to buy a new machine.
