I bought this because I wanted a receiver with DTS and enough inputs and outputs to accommodate all my equipment.
I have a DVD player, vcr, camcorder, monitor, computer all hooked into this thing with room to spare!
I definitely wanted multiple s-video inputs & outputs for all this equipment. This has 4 inputs and 2 outputs for s-video.
It has inputs on the front for my camcorder which can be either s-video or composite.
The digital optical inputs are cool because you can assign them to different equipment. There is also a coax digital input that I chose to use with my DVD player.
There is plenty of power here with 120 watts/channel. The sound is excellent as expected.
One thing that was a disappointment was that it can only pass s-video signals to s-video and composite to composite. It would be nice if the receiver could convert the signal internally so you could mix equipment. I have never tried this with other equipment so I am not sure if this is a problem with most receivers.
You can buy this receiver for under $300 if you look around and at that price it is a steal. Comes with a 2 year warranty.
