| kRaZyNpESS's Full Review: Sherwood RVD-8090R Receiver |
I purchase this receiver a few month ago to replace my Technic Dolby Prologic receiver with the Sherwood RVD 8090R to take advantage of the newer surround sound technology.
The receiver perform very well consider the price. With it connected to a 200 Watt powered subwoofer, 4 satellite and a center channel speaker, the receiver has sufficient power to fill my family room with thunderous surround sound from Jurasic Park DTS DVD. The effect was clean and spacious. The imaging was convincing.
The only gripe I have with this receiver is the remote. Most Universal remotes are not pre-program for it and the remote itself is not universal. I would've like to be able to control all my components from one remote instead of two, one for the Satelite receiver and one for the receiver.
The receiver is connected to:
4 Harmon Kardon Satelite speaker
1 200 Watt Audio Source SW fifteen subwoofer
1 Cerwin Vega Re series 6 1/2" center channel speaker
Dishnetwork DSS receiver w/ Optical AC3 and S-Video out
Panasonic DVD w/ Optical AC3 and component video out
Hitachi Ultravision projection TV
Room size: 21'x23'
