Pros: Very good price / value. Highly customizeable. Good digital decoding.
Cons: It's not as high quality as Sony's ES series, but still a better value.
The Bottom Line: If you demand the absolute best, buy the Sony ES series. If you want really good digital surround sound at a good price, this is a great unit.

I bought this to replace a Pioneer unit that didn't have Dolby Digital or DTS. I noticed a definate improvement in sound quality, and of course, LOVED the digital effects. If you have mixed speakers (not the same brand, style, etc) this unit works really well because you can customize speaker size, placement, etc through a really easy question and answer type on-screen configuration. LOVED the remote. Mostly because I have a Sony 300 CD changer and the remote actually lists all of the CD titles so you can surf through your CDs right on the remote, pick them, and play. I don't know what the heck some of these other opinions about the remote being difficult are all about. I don't think I've ever had an easier remote to program and use.
