Pros: Good sound, nice style, won't fall out of ears.
Cons: Slips out of place, can't lay down head, fragile design.
The Bottom Line: Buy it for the style, sound, and value. But don't leave them on your chairseat.

| statix's Full Review: Aiwa HPJ30 Headphones |
I got this pair of neckphones from a CD-player package from Aiwa. They came with the player. It was a pretty good deal, because most of the time, the headphones that came packaged with players offered low quality sound and construction. These stylish neckphones from Aiwa, which are also pretty cheap if you buy them separately, are quality for a low price. Put simply, you won't find many cooler looking earbuds on the market. The blue and silver accents, the band around your neck, the way the band "swoops" over your ears and into the canal. It's plain cool high-tech design by Aiwa. It's practical, too, since the band goes over your ear, they won't fall off before being held by your ear. Sound was decent, as well, with decent bass response and clear sound. I'm not very happy about the build quality, though. The "swooping" curvature is pretty, but you wouldn't want to put them at the bottom of your luggage. I broke mine after I sat on them accidentally. The point where the band ends and the blue highlight begins was where the neckphones essentially snapped in two, held together by only a thin wire which eventually wore away as well. Another bad quality about Aiwa's Swoops is that, like all but the best earbuds, they slip out of place (not so much out of your ear, as they misalign themselves) causing them to loosen out of positioning and as a result dampening the sound quality. Unless your ears have a height that EXACTLY matches the top part of the band, you will experience some looseness if you jog a little too vigorously. Plus, one of the main disadvantages of neckband 'phones is that you cannot lie down with them. Bear this in mind before you decide to sacrifice those calm, restful days of listening to music while you're nursing a headache.
