LATEST UPDATE (05/21/05): I wrote this review a very long time ago and still stick with it. I just wanted to add that now I have the Apple iPod mini and it is amazing. I couldn't be more happy with that product.

THE ORIGINAL REVIEW
If you have read audioplanets review (a few down from this one), you might be thinking that she just got a defective one. Well, I have had some of those same exact problems with mine too. This MP3 player is a great product that I love.....when it's working.
WHAT HAPPENS?
A lot of times, with my jukebox, I will turn it on and it seems as if it is having trouble reading the hard drive. It loads the Jukebox Ver : 5.03 screen and it will freeze there. Even if it has brand new batteries it still will freeze sometimes! If you listen to it closely it sounds as if it it cant read the hard drive. You can hear it doing something but it never turns on!! All of my files are still there, but I can only listen to them if I can get it to turn completely on. Sometimes I give up because I've tried over and over to get the thing to turn on!! I have used it in many places that move, and a standard MP3 player should be able to handle movement but mine, sometimes will work and sometimes won't. It never really skips, the music will just stop and the whole thing kind of freezes. It comes with headphones, but they are so cheap! They have a volume control on them that whenever you touch you hear static and the music kind of goes in and out. I use Sony headphones with it that work great. It uses a standard plug so if you have a good pair of headphones, you should use them.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT?
I'm not sure of what the problem is. I don't think the company even knows because they would try to create something that would fix it. What I think may have something to do with it is it might get a virus. Your computer can have one and because the jukebox doubles as data storage a virus might get on. Just a possibility. Maybe the products were not inspected the right way. Who knows?
THE GOOD PART
Well, when this thing is working, it is amazing. It is a really great product. 6000 minutes of music is A LOT!! It comes with an AC adapter, which I lost :), and 8 rechargeable batteries even though it only uses 4!! It also comes with a carrying case that can hold the jukebox and 4 extra batteries. As I said in the 1st section though, if you get this product, get some headphones to go with it. The ones they give you are nice because the fold up and have volume control, but they don't work well and that's the important thing, right? It is pretty easy to use. It has a small 2-line screen to things have to scroll for you to see it but when you have it plugged into your computer it is really easy to organize your music. This jukebox also can be used for data storage! You can put files on it and load them on another computer, which can be very helpful for big files. It holds as much as 8 1/2 would hold. Now that a lot of music/files! It has to output ports, and 1 line in port. It connects to your computer with a standard USB cable which is included.
MY RECOMMENDATION:
With my experience with this product, I don't think that you should get one. It's not worth the money. I'm keeping mine and am going to try to make due with it, but it sure does have a lot of problems!! So go for something else, I recommend something small and lightweight. Sony makes very good products, I have a lot of Sony products and all of them work great!
I hope my information will help you buy the right product. Good luck with the search! If you have any questions about this product or others, feel free to e-mail me at bballerDEAN@bellsouth.net
