Pros: Good sound quality, no skip
Cons: Low storage capacity for the price
The Bottom Line: I would wait for the price to go down before I could recommend the PA1 to friends. I believe New technology will make this device obsolete soon.

| brewmaster's Full Review: Compaq iPAQ PA-1 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
I must admit that I did receive my Compaq IPAQ PA-1 for free as a prize in an online contest. I would have never considered buying one at the current price because of the limited storage. With that in mind, here is my review...
I did not find the packaging to be as difficult to manage as some of the previous reviewers mentioned. The PA-1 came with two 32M memory cards, USB cable, software, earphones, belt clip, manual and batteries. The included software was easy to install and use.
Advantages
- The sound quality of the headphones was excellent.
- Light weight and small size.
- Display shows track, artist and title.
- No skipping.
- Last function (ie. shuffle) stays in memory when powered off.
Disadvantages
- The belt clip must be loosened or removed to open the battery door.
- The earphones are very large and do not fit in my childrens ears.
- I felt that the transfer speed (PC to PA-1) was slow.
Overall, I felt that two hours of portable, skip free music was not worth the $250 price tag. I was lucky enough to get mine for free so I will use it until I buy a device with more storage space for the money.
