.... and boy was I pleased this purchase.
All the stories about MP3 player proprietary formats and painful upload procedures, primarily around SONY, had me scared. It boggles my mind that electronic stores do not have the software that operates these units on display along with the players.
The iPaq MP3 Player has turned out to be an extremely simple and high quality unit.
Setup was a snap - once I finally got past the packaging, which is a true test of patience and ingenuity.
The software installation was painless and extremely easy to use. It provides for the basic player functionality, playlist creation, and memory card management. We had both CD and internet downloaded songs on the unit in no time. The 64MB memory provided for 15 songs averaging just under 3.5 minutes each.
The sound quality is great, whether played through the headphones or speakers.
My only complaint, now that I have survived the packaging, is the memory card door flap - not very sturdy and I'm afraid that unless I tape it on my 10 year old daughter will lose it before long.
