Pros: WMA support, Sound, price, 64MB, size.

| dacid's Full Review: Compaq iPAQ PA-1 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
I bought this player because of its 64mb, $200 price, and support for WMA media(instead of MP3, this new format takes up half the space as an equivalent quality MP3). The NomadII was my 2nd choice- but the IPaq is smaller and cheaper.
I was shocked when 1st playing this. The thing is tiny and it sounds incredible... I think it has a lot to do with excellent headphones; better than I have ever gotten from anything made by Sony.
I got 2 hours of Music in 64kbits WMA format (same quality as 128kbit MP3. If a better format of music comes out, the player can be updated to support it. It currently supports AAC(I don't know too much about this) files in addition to MP3 and WMA.
The Rio software works well as far as I could care. For people who are picky about the software -> I heard that the IPAQ only works with what it comes with. BUT check into it yourself if you care, because I may be wrong.
The batteries work as promised, for over 10 hours even after transferring songs from the PC.
The only word of caution I have is for people who want more than 64MB: You have to buy separate 64mb MMCs and either trash or sell the 32mb MMCs that it comes with.
Bottom line: For anyone who wants 2hours of music on a tiny player that sounds incredible, this is perfect.
BTW: Other people have been saying that the MMC cover comes off... but it never actually falls off unless you try to open it and you pull the wrong direction.
Also, to convert MP3s to WMA, I use a program called Audio Converter.
