| spzero's Full Review: D-link DMP-100 (32 MB) MP3 Player |
I bought this mp3 player at office max for 99 bucks and it came with a free 16mb memory card as a special offer. I saw this thing in the paper and I thought that I have to have this. For the price it was a great deal.
What Comes With
The package contains the player, a cord so you can connect it to your computer, software for your computer, and a set of earbud headphones. The headphones are actually pretty good in my opinion. It also came with a little pouch to hold it in pretty much just the essentials came with it.
Features
This thing has a surprising amount of features for such a cheap mp3 player. It has the basic play, stop, ff, and rew controls but it also has an equalizer. The equalizer is a great feature for this thing. The eq has settings for flat, pop, classic, jazz, and ex-bass. The presets shape the sound nicely but you cannot make your own settings. The player also has random, repeat, repeat 1, repeat all, and random repeat all.
Another feature is the A-B button. The A-B button allows you to press the button at one point in a song and then press it again and the player will play only what’s in between the A and B points. There is also a hold button on the unit so that when it is slid on you can’t press any buttons.
A very useful feature is the built-in recorder. I use this thing all the time to record me on my guitar when I have an idea. It is extremely easy to use because of the built-in microphone and one button use. All you have to do is hit record and it will. The sound quality of the recordings is also very good.
The ability to put files other than mp3s on the player makes it even better. You can upload any type of file onto the player and then download it onto another computer. This is useful if you want to transfer files larger than what will fit on a floppy disk.
Sound Quality
The sound quality is very good for this cheap of a player. The sound crackles a little bit only when the batteries are almost dead but that is really no big deal, you just change the batteries, which are two triple As. The unit is plenty loud enough for the average user to use and sounds good at high volumes.
Ease Of Use
This thing is very easy to use, just plug in the cable to the computer and install the software. Then the software is pretty much drag and drop and then all of a sudden you have mp3s on your player. It is really easy and pretty much anyone could do it.
This player is very much worth the money, I recommend it highly. It is extremely small and very portable. Thumbs up
