One major factor that played a role in me buying this type of cd player, was the price. I actually bought it on sale at Circuit City for $54.99 as opposed to their retail price of $62.99. It was money well spent. It came with a car kit(cigarette lighter adapter and tape) and wall adapter which were very handy since rechargeable batteries were not included. Not only were the batteries not included, but there's only 1 type of battery that can be charged with the built in rechargeable system. Regardless, it is still one of the best deals I've ever seen. With its compact design, only a little bigger around than a cd, and height of 1 inch, this cd player really is portable. The player does not have alot of buttons, but it has a sufficient amount (volume control, hold, excellent 40 second anti-shock, S-XBS bass boost, train boost, random/normal/resume, memory/recall, repeat once, and repeat all). This Panasonic plays scratched cds very well. Copied cds are played flawlessly. The player has outstanding durability. It was knocked out of my hands hard by one of my friends and the cover came off when it hit the ground. Don't get me wrong, it's not a cheap cd player, my friend hit it out my hands pretty hard. I was able to put the cover back on and it played like new. I dropped my cd player several more times and it still plays like nothing ever happened. The headphones for the player aren't exactly the best; they are actually kinda cheap but still good enough. The digital screen that shows the track number does not light up. This can be difficult to see in the dark. (The reason I got it so cheap was because it was on sale)
Excellent cd player for the price and the functions it provides. Great if you're looking for something affordable and long lasting. Even if it did cost more, I would still buy it.
