Pros: CDR Compatible, long battery life, bass boost, car kit included
Cons: always defaults to repeat entire CD on powerup. 10 second statup time with Anti-Shock enabled.
The Bottom Line: Wait until MP3 players are priced normally, buy this until then.

| cwiebe's Full Review: Panasonic SL-SX271C Personal CD Player |
After looking at a Sony equivalent that also included a car kit, the Panasonic SL-SX271C is a winner. Plays CDR's, Panasonic recommends staying with blue or silver colored CD's for best performance. Output is decent, but I'm not looking to blow my ears out either. The anti-shock is above reproach, I have been unable to get it to skip even while jogging, with the player on the side.
No on-going battery indicator, but the low battery indicator is displayed with at least an hour of battery life remaining. With the included car kit (cassette and lighter socket adapter) and the AC Adapter, this player has everything.
The player is also able to re-charge NiMh batteries itself, but (apparently) only if Panasonic batteries are used, which are $10 a pair.
Higher end options not included are inline controls, AM/FM tuner, which should be expected at this price.
