Pros: stylish, many functions, anti-shock memory
Cons: not loud enough, the "hold" setting causes the CD not to play sometimes
The Bottom Line: It's the best and most stylish CD player with a car kit on the market.

| insouciant's Full Review: Panasonic SL-SX271C Personal CD Player |
I had this sleek, pretty CD player for a few years and used it exclusively in my 1988 Honda Prelude. It had anti-shock memory so it didn't skip while I drove. Playing your favorite tracks off of a CD and skipping the unwanted ones was easy with its programmable memory. You could repeat a track, repeat all tracks, or just play through once. Fast forwarding and skipping tracks was effortlessly done with the same button. It's blue face plate even matched my car's interior.
The volume was easy to reach, but sometimes even at maximum volume it wasn't loud enough. Also there would be noise in the background if you maximized the volume. Sometimes it wouldn't play. I later found out this was because a switch had been moved to the "hold" position. I don't know what the purpose of that switch is.
It takes two AA batteries. The only time I needed to use them was when I was pushing play before the car was on, so they lasted a really long time.
One day I carelessly left the CD player in my car unlocked and someone took it. It's a great CD player and when I see its picture I miss it.
