Pros: lots of music, battery life
Cons: Magic ESP only good with MP3s, will not play CD-RWs anymore, fragile, low volume
The Bottom Line: I recommend that you buy another model from Philips with more features, or look somewhere else, it might become frustrating after a while.

| cirilobeto's Full Review: Philips eXpanium EXP103 Personal CD Player |
I bought this MP3 player a while back when new. It cost me $140, but then I felt it was worth it. I previously had a Philips CD player so I was not concerned about reliability. Everything worked well, had good sound, and was not so hard to use after you had it figured out.
The MP3 search could use a little work though. You might want to make a list of the songs in a piece of paper so you know what number each song is. The unit arranges the songs in alphabetical order, though sometimes some songs tend to go other places.
Things started to go the wrong way. First it would crash while playing MP3 CDs, yes just like computers, it got stuck. Then suddenly it did not want to play CD-RWs anymore, and the anti-skip with non-mp3 CDs was not working well. Now, even though it still works, I still cannot listen to CD-RWs, a major drawback when having MP3 CDs cause I could just update them instead of doing whole new ones.
