After giving this one a try for about a week, I've decided to auction it off and use that money for a Rio Volt mp3/audio player.
Here are problems I've encountered:
searching & ID3 Tag Support
If I'm going to shell out $170, I think ID3 tag support is essential especially when you have a burned CDR of over 100 songs/tracks. I think it's a big mistake to buy an EXP103 when all you know is the track number. Of course, you could print out your own listing of what track is what - but the searching is a bit clumsy when you have to scroll through each track one by one.
battery life
Perhaps this is common to all mp3/audio players, but playing MP3 audio seems to drain your batteries faster. I assume that it because the player has to decompress the file first. The problem is that I can never get 10 hours of life out of my batteries - I got about 5 hours.
extra goodies
This comes with headphones and a car kit. Most audio players thrown in crappy headphones - this is no expection.
Conclusion
It's a cool toy, but after you get over the novelty of a portable mp3/audio player, you'll want/need the 'extra features' that you can get in a few current mp3/audio players (like the Rio Volt - www.riohome.com) or other models on the horizon.
