| simmynut's Full Review: RCA Lyra RD2211 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
I asked for an MP3 player for my birthday, and after a lot of research, our decision was between an RCALyra2 and an Archos Jukebox. We initally bought the RCALyra2 because it was less money, plus a rebate, and it was a nice size to use during workouts.
I had the Lyra2 exactly one week and we took it back and exchanged it for the Archos. I used my memory cards, filled them both up in no time flat, and found I grew very tired listening to the same 12-19 songs over and over again. Could I erase and record over? Sure, but it just seemed so useless. Could I buy a bunch of memory cards and record on them and use them like different CD? Sure, but eventually that would really add up.
So, to answer all of those dilemmas we purchased the Archos, which is by FAR superior to the RCA Lyra2 in every way except size, and I can easily overlook that. You'll pay a few extra dollars, but if you figure in the memory cards, it's a wash.
Just a tip - don't buy these media card mp3 players. They are becoming a thing of the past very quickly. Most manufacturers will be and are going to the hard drive concept like Archos. Either save your money and wait, or go ahead and get the Archos.
