| cdr-jack's Full Review: Rio Rave MP2050 MP3 Player |
I bought my raveMP mp3 player in February of this year after considering many different options in portable sound. I have owned a portable CD player for many years now and found myself looking for an alternative way to listen to music on my morning walks. Many times I found myself scrambling to find that "one" CD that I would enjoy for my whole walk, but that task was nearly impossible. Also, the bulky size (and weight) of my CD player was somewhat of an encumbrance as I walked. These two complaints led me searching for a player that allowed me to play a mix of songs from different artists and had smaller dimensions than my CD player. The choices were many, but in the end I chose the raveMP (mostly for its $40 rebate and large 64MB capacity).
I must say that I haven't been this thoroughly pleased with any purchase in quite some time--this little unit met or exceeded all my expectations. It's small, lightweight, durable, easy-to-use (and learn), and a relative bargain (I paid $189 after a $40 rebate). Within minutes of unpacking it, I had literally learned nearly every feature on the raveMP, and I am far from an electronics expert. I would recommend this player to anyone in the market for a portable MP3 player--it's a little more money than most of the other players out there, but its cost is totally justified.
