Pros: Great sound, nice features, easy to use, nice display, fast/easy transfers
Cons: only 40 MB per Clik disk, bulky, faulty recorder, problems reading disks
The Bottom Line: Not recommended for athletes or for those who want high storage capacity or reliability. For casual MP3 listeners, this player is reasonably priced and should be more than adequate.

| natedogg2000's Full Review: Rio Rave MP2300 (40 MB) MP3 Player |
Bought this MP3 player on ebay's half.com and had an unfortunate experience. At the time I wanted both an MP3 player and a voice recorder to record memos.
The Good:
Excellent sound quality
Nice features--includes a calender/planner, built-in mic for voice recording, etc
Easy to use--intuitive buttons and easy file navigation
Attractive, easy to read display screen
Great battery life and includes a rechargable lithium ion battery
Package includes two clik disks that can store 40 MB of MP3 files each.
User friendly software and easy downloads to/from PC via USB cable
The Bad:
The unit is bigger and heavier than I would have liked. This made it a bit awkward to carry with me.
40 MB on each clik disk is fairly limited and to it's a pain to have to switch disks since I can't fit all the MP3s I wanted on one disk.
Clik disks were difficult to insert and remove. In fact one time the disk got jammed and I had to pry it out with a pen.
The ugly:
While the recording quality was very good, the voice recorder was defective--every time I tried to record a voice file the mic cut out after 30 seconds or so.
Fresh out of the box the player would not consistently read the disk. One minute everything would be fine and the next it would read "no disk." Eventually one of my clik disks became useless because the player wouldn't read it at all.
So...while I was impressed by the sound quality and the features of this MP3 player, I ended up returning it due to its faults and defects. The seller was extremely difficult and kept refusing the return, even though the MP3 player was clearly defective out of the box, and half.com's customer service was hard to reach. I finally did manage to contact customer service and they issued me a refund.
I really liked this player overall and would recommend it, but with reservations as my MP3 player appeared to be defective.
