| polaronionn's Full Review: Sony Walkman D-F415 Personal CD Player |
I've had this player for about six months. In that time, this player has worked great. I have taken it on many trips and vacation. First of all, it barely skips. The ESP2 works great and prevents most skips. It also has great sound. It has two bass settings, bass and groove. When listening to a cd you can play tracks repeatedly, repeat a single track, play only the tracks you want and in the order you want, or play the tracks randomly. Another feature I find very useful is the hold switch. Just turn it on and the player is locked, so if you have it in your backpack it can't accidently turn on and waste the batteries. It also has ALVS, which keeps down the volume so it won't hurt your ears. When I get bored with listening to my CDs I turn on the radio. When listening to the radio you can scan and it will find a station for you. To get a better reception for FM, you move the cord, for AM just turn the player. It has a DX/local switch on the side, I don't know why because I always have to keep it on DX so I can hear the radio. Also you can program 30 stations, 24 FM and 6 AM. That's a lot. This player comes with a rechargable battery, which can easily be recharged by simply plugging the player into an outlet. One of the coolest things about it is that on the cord there is a remote! It's real handy when my player is in my backpack and I want to change the station, song, or volume.
Ok. Now the bad stuff. This player is kinda big compared to other players. But remember that those players can't recharge the batteries and they don't have a radio. It's receptions for a lot of stations isn't that great. Barable, yes, but kinda annoying. Moving the cord really helps. Overall it isn't that bad though. And I do live in rural PA, where there's bad reception and lots of mountains.
