I got this discman for Christmas 99. It's really good, a lot better than my old discman, which was also by Sony. There are many cool features on it. It comes with the basics: headphones and ac adapter. There's also the electric shock protection, radio, remote control, a hold switch (disables all buttons so you don't accidently press anything), a resume switch (remembers where you left off on the cd), among other things.
I really like the cute little remote control that attaches to the headphones. It doesn't take too long to figure out. The headphones I don't use, because personally I prefer the earphones. What really caught my eye was the electric shock protection, because with my old one just a little tap would cause it to skip. With this discman, it takes much more to cause it to skip. There's a radio on it, which gets pretty good reception, and allows for a good amount of presets. It comes with a rechargeable battery which takes a couple hours to charge. The sound quality is great. You can choose from normal, bass, and groove.
For kids, this is great for taking on the long bus rides to school (just don't get caught with it and keep it in your locker) or just anywhere you feel like it. It's great for using while riding your bike, or running. The electric shock protection enables it to be used like that, since you'll be moving around a lot. If you got a car adapter, you could use it in your car if you don't already have a cd player in there. This is the best discman I've owned.
