This discman has everything. If you're concerned about a discman skipping, the Sony D-F415 uses ESP2 which provides 20 seconds of protection against skips. Also, sound quality is sharp and crisp coming out through the stereo headphones. The headphones have a remote control on the wire so you can control the cd track or change radio stations. It also comes with a rechargeable battery and AC adaptor to recharge the battery while it's in the discman. The battery provides a playback time of about 5-6 hours for me. Sony says that using AA batteries you can get up to 14 hours with ESP off.
Other nice features include a line out jack (in addition to the headphone jack) so you can hook up your discman to two different sources (like speakers). It also has resume play which means that when you hit stop then play later, it picks up right where you pressed stop, even if it was in the middle of a song. It also has the basic playback features such as shuffle, repeat, intro scan and programmable track order. Bass Boost and Groove settings are available if you want more bass. There is also a "hold" feature so if moving the discman, it doesn't accidentally start playing. The Automatic Volume Limiter System (which can be disabled) keeps the volume level down if it is too loud and the sound would be distorted.
Perhaps the best thing about this model is that it has a built in AM/FM tuner. If you get bored of listening to your cds, you can always switch to radio to see what's playing. The range of the discman isn't as good as say a car radio, but it's still pretty good (the headphones acts as the antenna).
The main disadvantage with this discman is that it skips regularly when trying to read some burned audio discs. Although, if you use high quality audio cd media, this shouldn't be a problem. Also, it's not super small like some of the new discmans available now, but it's not exceptionally large either.
There is nothing that this discman doesn't have. Granted it is more expensive that most other discmans, but it's very durable and will last for years. Better to pay the extra for something you can depend on.
