Pros: Small, looks cool, universal media to other sony products
Cons: Software is very bad. Even installed update from sony(free) and it still was terrible.
The Bottom Line: Don't buy.
Software is terrible, product is nice,
Product does no good without good software.
Hard to listen to an MP3 if you can't put it on the card.

| timhagglund's Full Review: Sony Network Walkman NW-MS7 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
I love Sony products. As almost all electronic pieces in my house are Sony. High end ES line audio, XBR line Video and Nice car audio.
I left this piece in the box for about 9 months as it messed up my windows 98 machine when I first got it.
I recently upgraded to windows 2000 and was sad to see that you had to send the walkman to sony for the firmware upgrade.
So I booted off of a windows 98 drive. My machine is a PIII 733, 384 MB ram and a 60 GB HD, the machine is fine.
In the last 48 hours I have had to reboot my machine dozens of times because of the freezing of OpenMG software (sony software) So I then downloaded the new version offline from sony as hoping it would be better. It was fine at first, and converted all of my MP3's over. But I tried to go from a cd, and it froze. So I rebooted. I had to uninstall both version of OpenMG then reinstall both, (since one was an upgrade) then try again. I got all 18 songs from the CD to the HD, then 1 song to the walkman before freezing, then restarted got 4 songs to the walkman before freezing. Then rebooted and now windows will not even boot.
This is the worst design of functionality that I have ever ever seen from Sony. A leader in consumer electronics really hit the bottom of the bucket on the design of this piece. All I can say is that I am glad I was able to get two of them at $10.00 Each, and 1 at only 100.00. Not one of them function properly and everyone of them was brand new. (closeout prices are nice) so I guess in the end, I have 3 empty 64MB memory sticks, but 3 lousy MP3 players. Maybe I should have bought the RCA :)
