Pros: -Great sound!
-One word, Bass, with a capital 'B'
Cons: -3 Band Adjustable Equalizer
-1 Personal EQ File
-No Sub-woofer Out
The Bottom Line: For 300$ US you will not get a better system! It's classic Sony, maybe not style, but you get great sound, and lots of it for the money spent.

Features:
_____________________
This system has a lot of great features. It has V-Groove and 'normal' groove. These increase the bass output of your system. Based on personal experience, these rock!! These pump up the bass by what sounds like double. they also increase the overall volume of the system. The dual woofers put out a lot of power and the bass ports redirect bass and give a good floor-rumbling feeling.
Surround sound is also included in this system, I find that these small, units sound incredible. I don't know how much of the total '240W' these actually handle, but I would suspect about 1/4 to 1/5.
Sound: 9 on 10
_____________________
Point 1- This system has very good sound. I just recently bought this system and have not had anything bad to say about it. Dual Woofers
Point 2- This system definitely has 'crankability', you can crank out the sound (goes up to 33 or 34 and then 'MAX')!
Point 3- Even though you can put out tons of bass for a (original) 300-350$ USD mini-system, you have to note you cannot crank it up to MAX with V-Groove on.
Other Thoughts:
_____________________
Point 1- I found that system sounds great up to about 19 or 20 on a scale of 34 on V-Groove. After that it sounds distorted. Note: 19 or 20 on V-Groove sounds like 27 on normal.
Point 2- Programming: I think that the clock/timer system could have used some work on the part of Sony. It's timer setup is tricky and I found that it exits quickly if you don't press any buttons (eg. to look at the instruction manual.)
Point 3- Wake up to music feature--one word: perfect! You can wake up to a CD, Tape A or B, Tuner, or you can program a track to play when you wake up by programming tracks. Once you are finished you turn off the system, done! When it starts to play, it played the Tape/CD/Tuner etc. that you choose. Once playing for 1 minute it shuts off, just enough to wake up, yet you don't have to worry about turning off you system when getting up.
