Pros: It plays MP3s....sometimes
Cons: Skip constantly, destroys CDs, remote is useless, faceplate is hard to put on.
The Bottom Line: This unit is a piece of junk like most, if not all, Aiwa products.

| moneybutt's Full Review: Aiwa CDC-MP3 Car CD Player |
From day one the unit has been skipping, and I know it's not because of poor shocks or bumpy roads because it does it when the engine is off! I thought maybe it was just a bad CD, so I burned another one and played it on my computer all the way through, and it played just fine. Then I put it in my Aiwa stereo and after 30 minutes of playing it started skipping. The more I played it, the worse it got. It then put the CD back into my computer and lo and behold, it now skips on the computer too. I tried 3 different brands of CDs and every time I play it in the Aiwa system, it destroys the CD! If you read the other reviews, skipping is a very common problem with this unit, and I bet many of those people don't even realize it's destroying their CDs!
The remote is completely useless. It only works if it's a few inches from the unit and at just the right angle. Forget about mounting it on your steering wheel.
The detachable face is not very easy to put on.
The access time between songs is too long.
Unfortunately, my home stereo is also an Aiwa, and guess what....the CD player on it doesn't work either. Aiwa just lost a $6.75 million dollar class-action lawsuit against them for their defective stereo systems. Over 230 different models of their mini systems are defective! The remedy is they will fix it for free or give you $50. Well they already fixed it 4 times and it still doesn't work, so I get a lousy $50 for a system I paid $500 for!
