MP3s in the car???

Pros: Plays mp3s, removable face, remote control, H-Bass, can read Joliet filenames (Windows CDs)
Cons: Non stock looking display, purple lights, remote sensor on right side of stereo
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the CDC-MP3. It's reasonably priced, has good sound, and plays MP3s! I've gone through a few brands and was happiest with Aiwa.

When I was considering replacing my factory stereo with an mp3 player, I was debating whether or not to get an Aiwa brand car stereo. After looking at different brands I found the Aiwa to have a lot of features and a great price.
The CDC-MP3 is one of the few car stereos that can read the Joliet filesystem on CDs -- that's the format that Windows uses. A lot of the other car stereos can't read it so the filenames end up looking like filenam~01.mp3.
The H-bass also can help make the sound more full. Some mp3s are weak in the low end, and the H-Bass if set to a low level can fill it in and make the sound more full.
The remote control is a nice feature. You can control the stereo without have to look down at it. It attaches to the steering wheel. Unforunately it will have a little rubber ring on your steering wheel to keep the remote in place, but it's not bad. The remote control sensor is also on the right hand side of the stereo, so the remote might not work.
The face is removable, and there's a blinking light on the stereo that acts like a security alarm light.
The only downside is the display. It's has a purple light on both sides that blinks every time you hit a key and the display has lights that move to the volume of the music. It's not bad, it just doesn't look stock.
Overall it's a great car stereo. It sounds good, plays mp3s, and can read the filenames. I highly recommend the CDC-MP3 if you're looking for a mp3 car stereo.
