Maybe a little too sensitive?

Pros: Picks up laser well in advance. Plenty of warning to check speed.
Cons: False alarms from X band are out of control.
The Bottom Line: The false alarms from X band are out of control. It's constantly alerting you to...What? I actually have to turn it off at times. Otherwise , works extremely well.

I actually bought this detector after reading a review saying that the number of false alarms was less than other models. What would be "less" I'd like to know. The X band is beeping constantly . I actually have to shut it off sometimes to keep from tossing it out the window. Switching to city mode does not help. It is not any less sensitive. Also,the tones are different from highway to city mode. What's up with that?
I should say that the voice alert is a pleasant voice to hear. Sometimes electronic voice alerts can sound very "automated". Which is a plus since you hear it so much! ( though it can be muted)
So, while the technology for picking up laser seems to be cutting edge. I cannot recommend this model because of the incessant false alarms.
