The Rockford RFZ-1412 is a cost effective 12" sub with quite an unexpected Punch. I have owned and install several Rockford subs for friends and customers. This new low cost version of the Punch sub first appeared to be a cheap sub to fill a 12" hole, but is soon found into my heart.
A pickup truck leaves many people with a momentous dilemma; “do I like the sound of a 12” subwoofer enough to loose my legroom”. But as I discovered recently this sub offers a great option, put a couple 12’s behind the seat and not give up any room up front. The smaller magnet of the Punch 12” allows you to build a shallow box that fit behind the seat and fits the woofer.
If you demand the quality of sound that comes along with the Rockford Fosgate name but are on a budget, the RFZ-1412 might just be your sub. Two of these 12’s probably won’t blow you out of the car or win any competitions, but they may make a few heads turn as you roll down through the parking lot. I would suggest a small 100-200watt Amplifier, Rockford 120a2, 150a2, or 250a2 will work great but any quality amp will do. So I would give the opinion that the Punch series subs are a great new choice that will hopefully steal some sales from the poor sounding (cheap) speaker sales.
