Pros: white colour is nice. all required buttons are present.
Cons: died after 3 months. dies suddenly when battery low with little warning. 2nd phone, ditto.
The Bottom Line: Barely adequate. Not reliable. Frustrating. Both phones (same model) failed within 3 months.

What sherrivonl wrote? Yup. Me, too.
We bought our phone in March 2001. Today (July 1, 2001), we took it back to the store. Thankfully, we'd bought the extended warranty, cause we surely needed it.
When we first got this phone, I charged it according to the instruction manual's specifications. And each charge lasted nearly a week with regular use! I was thrilled.
After about 2 months, the battery life noticeably lessened until this past week, when it wouldn't hold a charge for more than a half hour.
As others have written, it's great that it has caller ID. But it's lacking a volume control on the ringer. And the ringer is LOUD.
On the positive side, when it works, the range is excellent. And it offers 10 pre-programmed numbers.
Which I now have to go in and program again on the replacement phone. Okay, I'm bitter.
It's a budget phone, sure, but I expected a bit more from GE.
All our previous phones have been Panasonic. And I could have swapped this phone for some other manufacturer's model today, except the store I bought from (Future Shop) only offers the replacement warranty I have on GE brands.
Now I know why.
Bottom line: go for something else. Anything else.
----
Postscript: one month after receiving our 2nd phone (same model), it's also died. Wouldn't respond to the base station.
I've traded it in (with an additional $50) for a Panasonic. That's the last GE cordless I'll ever buy.
