Cons: The cordless phones are terribly fragile, and will break every 2 weeks.
The Bottom Line: I would avoid this system, unless you have a penchant for broken telephones, mean and argumentative customer support, and serious corporate downtime.
These telephones should be removed from all retail shelves.
Panasonic's "National Customer Service Center" should be fired.
I have never, ever, had problems like I had with these phones - my cellphone has better reception and is more reliable.
In short, here's my situation:
I bought the base station and four handsets, and everything was good for 3 weeks. Then two of the cordless handsets broke within a day of each other. One just stopped working - no power at all, and the other's speaker broke, so I could talk but not listen. Not very good for business...
I figured it was a fluke, and bought two new phones from a retail store.
Then within the next 2 weeks, the batteries on the original phones both died - neither would recharge. No big deal, right? I had gotten about 5 weeks out of them, right? Well replacement batteries cost about $25.
So I tracked down replacement batteries after calling the UNBELIEVABLY RUDE customer "service" people at the "National Help Center" (who inevitably hung up on me twice) who offered to send me free replacement batteries if I ran through hoops for them.
I am trying to run a business, and do not have time to run hoops. (I don't really have time to write this opinion, but I don't want anyone else to have to deal with this).
Then, after two replacement batteries were purchased, one of the original 2 phones and one of the new phones broke! One heated it's battery (panasonic brand, not a generic replacement) so much the phone was hot to touch, and it never worked after that. The other phone sounded like a static-ridden cell phone.
After about an hour of talking with the "National Help Center", and literally arguing with the "helpers" about the state of my telephones, and the fact that the batteries were not to blame for all the phones breaking, etc. I was told that they *might* replace the phones within 3 weeks, if I shipped them to the Panasonic technical center.
The reason I bought 4 phones is because I need 4 phones. I can't afford to have 2 of them off in limbo for 3 weeks - and Panasonic will NOT preship 2 replacement phones, or "loaner" phones, even if I give them a credit card.
