The Bottom Line: If you buy this phone, be prepared to need to request a new battery.

I got this phone as a gift for Christmas this year. It worked great for about a month. Reception was good, features worked well, and I had no major complaints. However, after six weeks, the battery life began to drop rapidly and now the battery will only last 15 minutes between charges. When I contacted Panasonic Customer Service, they said batteries are not covered by the one year warranty as they are an accessory. The representative said under no circumstances would I ever receive any assistance from Panasonic in replacing this battery. I asked repeatedly if it would be possible for Panasonic to send me a replacement battery and that I would return my original battery for them to test. I was told again that batteries are not a covered item and that several retailers in my area would sell me a new battery for about $20. I would suggest caution in purchasing a phone from Panasonic as long as this level of customer service is the norm.
Update:
After calling Panasonic four times and requesting to speak with a supervisor each time, I was finally told that a new battery would be sent to me at no charge. We'll see if it arrives and if this solves my problems.
Update:
I received the battery promptly and have been using it ever since. So far, the problem seems to be solved. I can once again use the phone for over an hour and still have charge to spare. I'll update this epinion again if things change.
