Pros: Awesome range, handset speakerphone, base speakerphone, caller ID in handset.
Cons: Complicated programming and operation. No mute or hold on handset. No second battery charger!
The Bottom Line: If you dont mind struggling with programming, and don't miss the mute, the phone perfroms quite well. It's a slick little phone.

| techwizard's Full Review: Panasonic KX TG2670 2.4 GHz 1-Line Cordless Phone |
I bought the phone for $250.00 a little overpriced, but needed the handset speakerphone and wanted a higher quality phone than the V-tech competitor (see my opinion on this phone- coming soon). Handset speakerphones are great when your forced to cooperated with automated phone answering systems. As can be seen from pictures, the phone is nifty looking, and the handset is very compact, smaller than many t.v. remotes, it fits nicely in your pocket.
Gripes+Hypes
The Panasonic is no doubt a feature packed phone, but it seems they rushed the design and neglected some very important things. For instance the handset has no mute or hold buttons on it. This can be either a minor inconvenience, or potentially a danger during some conversations.
Secondly the phone should really have a spare battery charger and an availabe optional spare battery. Although Panasonic claims 4.5 hours talk time and 11 days standby, these are estimates which decrease as distance from base increases or of course when using the handset speakerphone. Personally I always forget to put the phone on the base so it is nice having the security of knowing there is always a fully charged battery waiting for me.
Lousy Controls
Another thing that bugs me is the buttons are poorly layed out and programming is difficult. If you are a person who has difficulty programming the vcr, I dont recommend this phone, get the sony spp-2480(rating coming soon). Don't plan on figuring out how to use everything without reading the thick instruction manual. For example programming the answering machine is ridiculous. You have to push buttons on the handset while reading the screen on the base to find out which to push. Also you can't listen to messages on the handset speakerphone-- stupid, an oversight I'm sure. There should be a menu on the handset display to direct the user as to which buttons to push to advance, replay, or delete messages: these functions must be memorized. Once learning the controls, the phone isn't too bad, but there is a learning curve which could have easily been overcome by more creative designs on Panasonic's part.
Sound Quality and Distance
The range of this phone is exceptional. I walked at least 600 feet away from my house before the connection was lost. During the last 100 feet or so the phone would cut out words as it probably was changing to a stronger channel. I would not expect the range to be a problem for most people.
Sound quality is great, it sounds very close to a corded phone. The speakerphones also work quite well. In a quiet room, I have had people not believe they were on speakerphone. The speakerphone volume could be much louder though, on both the handset and base. At the loudest setting they are easily drowned out by background noise.
Despite the phones flaws, it performs quite well. Until a better cordless duplex speakerphone come out, I'm going to hang on to Panasonic.
I don't have caller I.d. service, so cannot comment on these features.
