| Debbietipton's Full Review: AT&T 9410 900 MHz - Cordless Phone |
Living in Colorado at the base of Cheyenne Mountain has proven to be a phone nightmare for us. We wanted a portable phone because, face it, it is just plain nicer to use. We tried so many that just would not work. The beautiful mountain would make it next to impossible for us to find a channel that would allow us to hear or be heard.
A few weeks ago we picked up this AT&T Cordless, and it seems to be the long awaited answer to our telephone woes. It also has several features that we were looking for.
The phone has a Caller ID with call waiting feature that will work with the service from your local provider. This phones caller ID will allow you to see who is calling even when your already on the phone on another call.
To Use My New Phone I:
Press any key except the off key to answer an incoming call.
Flash: Push this button to answer another call when I am already on another call.
Remember, though, in order for this to work you must subscribe to the service from your local provider.
Making a Call:
1.) I press phone and then dial the number.
or
2.) I dial the number and then press phone.
Hold: I can press the hold button at any time during my call to put the caller on hold and then press the button again to release the hold and resume my conversation.
To end a call all I need to do is press the off button or just put the hand-set back in the base.
One of the features that I use a lot is the page button or the hand-set locator. I am forever setting down the phone and not remembering where I put it. My children will also walk off with it and I will have no clue where it is. I just simply press the hand-set locator and then I know where both my child and my phone are hiding. The page will last for up to sixty seconds and can be stopped by pressing the off button or returning the hand-set to the base.
This particular AT&T phone also has a headset jack. You must purchase you 2.5 mm headset separately, but it is wonderful if you have small children as I do and are in need of both of your hand which I am most of the time.
The AT&T cordless can store as many as twenty names each up to sixteen digits long. The entries are stored alphabetically.
HOW TO STORE NUMBERS:
1.) Press program. The screen will now display the Directory.
2.) Press Sel. The screen will now display Enter Name.
3.) When you finish entering the name, press Sel. The screen will now display Enter Number.
4.) Now enter the telephone number. You must press re-dial/pause to store the pause in the number.
5.) Press Set to store the entry. You will hear a series of beeps confirming that you entry was registered.
Once you have stored a number and you need to Edit or Delete it:
1.) Press (Dir) Directory
2.) Scroll to the number needed
3.) Press Set and Dial, Edit, Erase will come up.
4.) Select the function that you need.
5.) Pres set again to save the information
BATTERIES:
The battery will stay charged up to six days with the ringer turned on and up to twelve days with the ringer turned off. When the battery is fully charged it will provide up to five hours of talk time.
You will know that your batteries are in need of changing when:
* A new battery is just put into the handset
* The phone beeps twice every sixteen seconds
* The display screen will tell you that there is a low battery
MY FINAL THOUGHT ON THIS PHONE:
Overall, I must say that I am very impressed with this little phone. I like the size and the overall functions of this particular model. As I stated earlier, the fact that it picks up my conversations behind the mountains is a big plus for us as most others that we had tried did not. I like the fact that I have the option to use this as a wall hanging or a desk top set up. At $39.99 this little phone was also well within my price range. I have seven children so it is important to me to have a phone that is durable as well. The AT&T handheld has with stood the test. Would I recommend this phone? Yes, it gets four stars from me.

Yes
