Pros: Great sound, lots of useful features.
Cons: Panasonic can be slow at replacing parts.
The Bottom Line: Great phone for $79.00, it would be an even better phone if Panasonic would replace it's parts.

| tiffer0220's Full Review: Panasonic KX TC1700 900 MHz 1-Line Cordless Phone |
We have had the Panasonic TC1700B for about a year now. It has been out of commission now for the past 6 months. The reason being is that the battery compartment cover has been lost, and you cannot talk on the phone because you will get cut off due to the battery falling out.
With that all being said, I'll let you know my reasons why I like this phone, and the one reason why I dislike it.
The Panasonic TC1700B is a 900mhz cordless phone. It is all black, and it is rather small when you see those big bulky phones out there and the chargers take up half of the countertop. The charger is only about 8 inches long by 3 inches wide. The antenna on the charger only stands about 6 inches high. It is a pretty big spacesaver.
The phone itself is sleek and lightweight. The antenna is only 2 inches high, so you do not have to worry about it breaking off or getting caught up in your hair or anything.
The phone features call waiting caller ID with name & number. It has a feature that if you look at the caller ID and then hit the 'talk' button, it will automatically call back the person that is listed on the caller ID at that time. The phone also has all of the buttons like other cordless phones have. Such as flash, volume control, tone, ringer control, redial. It also has a light on the charger that will let you know if you have a voicemail message and then there is a button for voicemail. Just press the button to retrieve your messages.
The caller ID is located on the back of the phone, not the part that would be closest to your ear. There is also search buttons for searching through the caller ID, and the menu option buttons are here as well. You can program the phone to speed dial up to 10 different numbers.
The sound on this phone is very good, and the distance you can go is pretty far. I have gone outside my house and then 3 houses up while talking before I heard the least bit of static. The battery itself is pretty good. I have left it off of the charger for 24 hours and I was still able to talk for awhile on the phone before having to re-charge the battery.
My one dislike with this phone is that I have been waiting for a long time for Panasonic to replace the battery cover for me. It's been a good 6 months or more, and I am still waiting. I hope they replace it eventually because I want to get this phone back in use.
