I bought this phone about a month ago to replace our old cordless phone that was just about dead.
It has so many wonderful features that I wanted in a cordless phone. The 900 MHz is wonderful, I was across the street talking to a neighbor and had my phone in hand and someone had called and the sound was so clear, it was unbelievable!
The KX-TCI1700B can be left off the base and still work for days after, without it being charged.
It has caller ID and when I am on the phone and get a beep, I can look at the display window on the back of the phone and see who is calling in, while I am talking. The caller ID lets you see who is calling either when the phone is on or off the base.
Another thing that is great about this phone is when you are making a call, the numbers you dial are displayed in the display box, which I think is great. That way you can see if you accidentally push the wrong number key.
Another great thing about this phone is the pager button on the base. If you have little kids who like to "hide" the phone or if you misplace the phone or forget where you set it down last, just hit the pager button on the base and the phone will beep until you find it.
There are so many fabulous features found in this phone, I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is looking to buy a new cordless phone.
The sound is wonderful and the operation is virtually noise free and the 900 MHz lets you go the maximum distance with the phone.
