| gavriln's Full Review: Panasonic KX TC1700 900 MHz 1-Line Cordless Phone |
I didn't know what to get for my mother on a Mothers day. But, I remembered that my mom likes convenient things such as cordless phone with a caller id that has a great sound quality. Well, my choice was Panasonic. I chose Panasonic because I like to buy quality products. I knew that Panasonic is good because a few of my friends own cordless Panasonic phones whose quality I always was satisfied with. I had bad experience with Sony phones and I know that all other phones can't beat Panasonic or Sony in my mind.
This phone has following features:
-- 900MHz Operation
Good if you don't want to worry about reception while you are walking around the house or in the yard
-- Backlit 3-Line LCD Display on Handset
You can screen calls while you are on the phone or off the phone. Plus the screen lights up if there is an incoming call
-- 50-Name/Number Caller ID Memory with Callback stores information
Useful if you don't want to look up a phone number when you see the person you want to call back.
-- 10-Station Speed Dialing lets you store ten 21-digit phone numbers for easy dialing
Good, but a phone needs a greater capacity for storing phone numbers
-- 3-Level Handset Volume Control
Great feature that works unlike on a Sony phone which increases the volume of static
-- 30-Channel Auto Scanning
Great for safety reasons. But, I still wouldn't use a cordless for credit card transactions or any kind of private information
-- Up to 21-Day Standby Battery Life
Good if you don't keep your phone on the charger all the time, but you better be careful of draining the battery. On alot of cordless phones if you let the battery drain all the way you might have to go and buy a new battery
-- Up to 8-Hour Talk Time
Good long living battery, but once again don't let it drain all the way
-- Handset Locator
Great feature if you tend to lose your phone alot
I didn't get a Panasonic phone with an answering machine because my parents already have an answering machine and this phone was for my parents bedroom.
I think that this phone is a great present for people who like good quality communication over the phone and great features such as caller id display. I say that this is a great present because not everyone is willing to spend 100 dollars on such a phone.
