-automatic call timer

What I like best
Several features of this phone come in handy. The first of which is remote operation. This basically means that you can use the handset to operate the base/speakerphone. The automatic dial comes in handy when you can't remember the number for a call you're returning: just view the number on the call display, press talk, and the phone dials the number for you.
What I like the most is the visual call waiting: whenever someone calls on the other line, you see them on your caller id (but you must subscribe to this service with your phone co.). Related to this are the call waiting options: when your visual call waiting kicks in, you have the option of putting the incoming call on hold, sending it to voice mail, dropping one of your calls, or conferencing them both.
How well this phone's held up
I've had this phone since 1999 and it's survived many tumbles, and a daily 20min steaming when I'm in the shower (not to say that your phone could become a rubber ducky for your kids). The quality of this phone is excellent and the reception is clear as a bell. The 900Mhz definitely makes a difference. Although this phone has multiple channels, I can't recall ever having to switch channels on this phone because there is never any static. In regards to battery life, my handset spends all day off of the base, so the battery usually gives up every other day until I recharge it.
What this phone doesn't have:
while there is an indicator for when the phone is in use, there is no indicator for when the line is in use, meaning that your family members will constantly be picking up the phone when you're on a call. Also, there is no caller ID on the base and no headset capability. Some people have mentioned the fact that it doesn't come with an answering machine, but those are pretty much obsolete nowadays, that's why we now have voice mail...
