| Korie's Full Review: Panasonic KX TC1710 900 MHz - Cordless Phone |
My husband purchased me a Panansonic cordless phone while I was in labor with one of my children. For the first month or two whenever I would talk to someone they were always telling me that they couldn't hear me. It got so bad that I told my husband to take it back and get a different phone.
He came back with the same kind of phone. I could actually be heard on the other end of the line with this one, but a few months later really weird things started happening.
We would be sleeping during the night and the speaker phone would turn on and it was as loud as it could go. I tried turning the volume down so if it did it again it wouldn't be as loud. Obviously the volume control had nothing to do with the problem. It would still turn on and be really loud.
There would be times when we would turn it on that it would read "out of range" and we were in the house. Then there would be the times when the speaker phone would go off and it would be a busy signal blurting throughout the night.
I have resorted to unplugging the phone at night, but that seems to make things harder when trying to make it work again.
It was still under warranty and we tried to return it Staples where we bought it. They informed us that they no longer carried Panasonic brands.
So we are now stuck with a psycho phone. Usually when you have a one time situation that something needs to be replaced it is forgivable. When you have to do it twice to the same product that makes me very skeptical.
Some things that I do like are the caller I.D. screen is located on the handset so you don't have to run somewhere else to see who is calling. I also like the speaker phone, that comes in handy if by chance you forget to put the phone on the recharger overnight. The last thing I like about it is the locator. I swear I am losing that phone every time I turn around. So there are a few good things to it.
