| Chip89's Full Review: Panasonic KX TC1710 900 MHz - Cordless Phone |
I've had this model for about 6 months and have found it to be a great all around cordless phone. I hope to show you why I chose this model in my review.
The Good
It's very clear and has great range. I can get up to about a city block away from the base and not have any interference while I'm talking. If you have any interference, you can select one of 30 channels to solve the problem while you are talking.
The speaker phone is also very clear. I The handset is very light weight and feels comfortable on my ear and in my hand when I'm talking. The caller ID lights up, is easy to use and will store up to 50 numbers. The edit feature on the caller ID makes it easy to call anyone back.
It allows you to stores 5 numbers on the base and 10 on the handset, plus 1 million security codes to help keep someone with a scanner from hearing your conversation.
Not only can you use the memory function for calling someone, you can also use the phone numbers that you have on the caller ID as well.
There is a light that lights up on the base, if you choose to subscribe to your local phone company voice mail system, to let you know you have messages and there is one to let you know if anyone has called.
The Bad
The only two things that I wish this phone had would be a jack for a headset & a caller ID on the base. Other than that, I love it.
The Closing
This is the third different model of Panasonic phone I've owned. The first one was lost in a divorce settlement & I still have the second one (it still works great, even after having it for 5 years).
The main reason I got this phone was because I signed up for caller ID & the last phone I had, didn't have that feature built in to it. There's nothing worse than being at one end of my apartment when the phone rings & I have to race back to my living room to check the ID box, only to have the person that's calling hang up before I see who it is.
I spend a lot of time talking on the phone & they take quite a bit of abuse from me. Panasonic has earned my trust & I will continue to buy nothing but their phones.
