If you are looking for a cordless phone with almost all features, Panasonic KX-TC 1740B is surely worth taking a look at. This model is not the top of the models Panasonic offers, yet it has got all basic features.
I was looking for a cordless phone which has got a speaker phone, dual key pad, a reasonable range, caller ID & Digital Answering System but i could not find all these in one single unit, unless i saw this model from Panasonic.
The 3 - line Caller_ID display is there both in the handset and the base unit. And this you can do with a call you receive as you are busy with another call with the Call Wait Feature.
15 minutes all digital answering system is more than enough unless you go out for a month long tour.
It has also got duplex speaker phone, which will allow either parties to talk & hear simultaneously. With normal speaker phones, this feature won't be there, it is just one way, either can talk but not both.
Talking about the few things this product is missing, it doesn't have the Digital Spread Spectrum which means all your conversation is safe and secure and cannot be tapped by eavesdroppers. Remember that not all 900 MHz have this DSS.
And a head set would have made the product a complete one, particularly if you are a busy person who is need of the hands free talk.
But for these, this is an excellent cost-effective cordless phone.
