I purchased because of the price, compactness, magnification.

They were well priced, and indeed compact, but almost useless.

Binoculars are very dependent for comfortable viewing upon depth of field of the eyepiece. The more the magnification the less range of adjustment your eye has to actually see a focused image. Without a larger objective lens, the image is so small for the 8x magnification that I (and friends who have tried them as well) have difficulty keeping them focused and centered on an object. Like reading a newspaper through a straw.

Gave it to my kids as a play toy.

Essentially one word sums up this product: Useless.
