I loved this camera when I first got it. It was portable, was easy to use, and took good pictures After 1.5 years with this camera, I have had nothing but problems. First, the camera started shutting off by itself. So you get the picture you wanted all ready and when you push the button to take the picture, the camera would shut off. This would happen about 20% of the time, not enough to render it useless, just very annoying. I would have taken it in to get fixed, but of course, it was out of warranty, so I just dealt with it.

Now I just thought the battery life was getting worse, so I bought an additional battery. After a while I found out that it had nothing to do with the battery, it's the camera. It has now gotten to the point where with a fully charged battery, you will be able to get a couple of photos taken before it says to change the battery.

Although the size and ease of use are very great, salable features, the longevity of this camera is not. In my opinion, this is essentially a 2-3 year disposable camera, due to the repair costs being greater than buying a new camera. Either get the extended warranty, which I usually never recommend, or be ready to buy a new one in a few years. Also, I have owned a couple of other canon products and have problems with them too. I would highly recommend spending a little more and get a quality item that will last.
