blakebrenneman's Full Review: Kodak DC3200 Digital Camera
I purchased my DC3200 in August, 2000. When I first took it out of the box and started taking pictures, I was somewhat disappointed at the low capacity of the internal memory. So, I immediately had to go out and buy a CF (compact flash) card. You can take quite a few pics with this camera on best quality with a 16mb CF card or larger. You can estimate about .3mb per picture. So after I got the card, I started taking some more pictures, only to realize this camera was really sucking down the batteries (even more when using the lcd screen). So I went out and purchased 8 NiMH rechargeable batteries and a charger (the camera uses 4 at a time). I went on firing off some more pictures. Then, when I was done, I went to transfer the pictures to my computer, only to realize that it takes a loooooonnngg time to transfer when using the included USB cable. So of course, I went out and bought a CF card reader. Then, I was off to the races. I've taken some decent pictures with this camera, but it is only 1 megapixel, so it isn't exactly print-quality. And, unless you hold the camera perfectly still, your pictures will be somewhat blurry. Don't get too close to what your photographing when using the flash, because it bleaches anything out within four feet. My fix to this problem was taping a piece of printer paper over the flash, and that seemed to work pretty well.
Now don't get me wrong, this camera isn't a total bust. It is well designed and can fit in most spaces larger than your pocket. The lcd screen works well and shows you exactly what your picture will look like. You can manually adjust the white balance. And it's great for pictures to e-mail or post on a website.
Overall, I ended up spending about $300 on everything to do with this digital camera.
