| unohuu's Full Review: Konica Minolta Maxxum 7 / Dynax 7 35mm Film Camera |
I love the way the body balances in my hand. This camera supercedes my expectations for a consumer camera. From the moment I picked it up I found it easy to use. The interface is similar to that of the Maxxum 650si, using wheels to control the functions of the camera. The focus is fast with the 50mm f/1.7 and also with the 135m f/2.8 that I use for portraits.
I was worried that the screen on the rear of the body would be easily scratched but surprisingly with some gentle care I have not noticed damage.
This is a camera you can grow with...start with the camera in Program mode if you need and work your way through to Aperture and Shutter priority and on to full manual mode. The camera has the wonderful ability to shift from AF to MF with a handy touch of a button near the eyepiece and this button can be controlled to be either a toggling switch so you can move your hand or a touchpoint button so that you can easily switch while focusing.
I am just getting to know this camera after a year of having it. There are more features to this camera than a hobby user might ever need, but I am glad they are there.
