| THE_GADGET_GUY's Full Review: Konica Minolta Maxxum 7 / Dynax 7 35mm Film Camera |
I have owned no less than 100 cameras and have always been fond of Minoltas, especially the old 9000 and the new Maxxum 9, the 7 however combines styles in one of the most user friendly "quasi-pro" SLR ever introduced ( that of course is one man's opinion ).
As soon as you hold it you know it will be easy to use with rotary controls instead of tiny buttons. But raise it to your eye and the autofocus speed will blow you away! I will spare you the technical data and specs since you can hotlink to Minolta's web site from this page.
This camera has got virtually every auto feature ever put into one camera , without sacrificing your potential need for shifting program or gain complete manual control.
In my first rolls I have seen perfect exposure, perfect focus. Of course Minolta's optics are great and a little more affordable than Nikon's or Canon's while being just as sharp in both technical and suggestive evaluations.
Used lenses can be bought at auctions for good prices i.e.: the great standard lens 50mm f1.4 can usually be obtained for around $100, that is less than half of what you would bay for a competitor. ( By the way if you are only ever using a zoom Get yourself a 50mm the resolution is almost twice as high as a good zoom.)
I will keep my Maxxum 9, because I love it and because of its status, however I don't know that I would not rather use the 7...
