| laserone's Full Review: Vivitar CV24 APS Film Camera |
I bought a Vivitar CV-24 aps camera, and it had alot of problems. I am returning it to the place where I bought it. I like the little camera alot, and will miss it, but the problems I had with it were too much. The CV-24 has the following design problem:
When the flash goes off, it flashes in the eye of the user because it's case is transluscent. They need to block that somehow, it's painfully blinding, more so than for the subject, because you hold the camera to your face when you are taking a picture. I found this to happen mainly inside when it was darker, not all the time. I guess it depends on how much your pupils are dialated before this happens.
My particular camera had the following defects:
*The aps film did not "drop in" easily, it stopped halfway and had to be forced in. The result of that is that the film did not want to come out again without needlenose pliers.
*Also, the camera only took one size picture. There is a slider to choose from the 3 different sizes, but it only took one size. All photos came out as "wide angle" (as opposed to "classic" or "panorama"), even though I chose 3 different types throughout the roll.
This is all too bad, because the camera is really very cute, with it's translucent color of your choice... it's very lightweight, and small. These features are what drew me to it in the first place, and the price (29.99 before shipping, where I got it). Hopefully it was just my camera that had problems, because it's so cute and easy to take along, that I'd like to see it do well. I would still recommend it, because they can't all be defective like mine was.
