The main reason we bought this TV was that we have a large room an the seating arrangement meant that it was impossible for more than 3 people to view the a conventional floor based TV.
The cooling fans are intrusive, but we've learned to live with them, the picture quality is OK, but nothing special, certainly no better than a good quality CRT TV.
The major problem is reliability, our set has broken down 3 times in 6 months. In the past I've owned Bang & Olufsen's, and Sony's and they just keep going, I cant recall any of them needing a repair.
Luckily the store I bought the TV from offered and inclusive 5 year warranty, as I understand the call out charge, each visit from the repairer is £295.
I'll have to seriously consider my position if this TV continues to behave in this way, as I do not believe that this constitutes mechantable quality
Update. The estimated cost for the third repair was £2450 including call out. The unit was 2 years old at the time. My dealer agreed with me that this was unacceptable and allowed me to have a replacement TV.
I chose a Pioneer PDP503MXE and am over the moon with the picture quality and so far 15 months on no reliability problems
