Already Obsolete (Reply to this comment)

The native resolution of the Phillips 42PW9962 handles only the LOWEST resolution digital TV, the 480p mode. There are over 100 stations broadcasting HDTV already, as well as satellite broadcasting of HBO movies, all in 1080i (ABC's is in 720p). The Philips has only one fourth the resolution of 1080i. If you are wealthy, you can buy one of these and in a couple of years upgrade to a higher resolution model (currently the hi-res flatpanels go for about $20,000). But if you've saved up all year to buy a flat panel TV, you're better off waiting a year or two for the hi-res panel's price to drop and get a 1080i native resolution model.

This reviewer should make very clear whether he/she has bought the television or simply seen it at Circuit City.
