| h_yamane's Full Review: Sony Handycam CCD-TRV67 Hi-8 Analog Camcorder |
e had Sony Palmcoder for 11 years. Unfortunately, it died during the summer. We were not going to replace it right away since we did not have a budget for a new one, but I saw this camcoder in the Best Buy add. Free Financing until May, 2001. I took my wife to Best Buy right away and we checked some camcoders out. We both loved Sony Palmcoder that we had, so we were pretty much determined to go with Sony again. There were some choices that took us a while to decide which one to buy. I believe this one is in the middle segment in the Sony line up. I wanted some what advanced than the old one but did not want to pay more that $600.00. I liked Digital 8, but it starts at $800.00. Another discussion with my wife and we both decided to pick this model. We took it home and tried right away. Zoooooooom. The zoom is fast and smooth. Zoom up to 360X. Very clear up to 40X. Replay. Hey I did not know that we can just replay with the sound, so it was amazing for me. Please remember that we were using
the model that we obtained in year 1989. Battery is small and easy to carry. The weight of the camera is very light. Basic operation is the same, so we did not have to study the whole instruction book. We loved this. No, it does not have stereo sound, no it is not digital 8, but who cares? This is a great camcoder for existing user as well as for the beginner. I am terrible with taping, but this camera has SteadyShot® picture stabilization system so even I can tape. Some fun functions as well. This products is a GOOD BUY.
