| surferdude7's Full Review: Kenwood DV-403 DVD Player |
Are you looking for a DVD player? Well Kenwood has the name and the quality to back it up with this sleek beautiful model.
Dolby Digital or DTS decoding ready, this means you will need either a Dolby 5.1 or DTS receiver to get the true sound as in the theaters. Believe me the sound is Great!!!!!!!
Features
1. Picture Zoom - Take the remote and zoom an area on the screen that you whish to see enlarged.
2. Play DVD, CD and CDRW discs.
3. Optical or Coaxial hookups. (Optical is the best - one fiber optic wire to your receiver connects 5 speakers and one sub-woofer.)
4. DTS Compatible
5. Only 10 keys on this remote, this is an easy one to use.
6. Parental Control, up to 8 Levels. (Now you can set it so the young ones cannot watch what they are not suppose to on DVD.)
7. Two Laser Pickups for better display. (No skipping while watching a movie and this is why it can read a CDRW disc.)
8. Scan, Search, Slow Motion and more.
Hookups
Setting up the DVD player is simple and easy with easy to understand instructions.
For the Video you have: 1 Component, 1 S-Video and 1 Composite. If your TV has an S-Video hookup, then I recommend this for the best picture possible.
For the audio you have: Optical, Coaxial and RCA hookups. Optical will give you the best results and easiest hookup, Coaxial will be second on quality and with the RCA jacks you have to hookup one wire for every speaker.
Overall
This is a very nice DVD player listing for $230 and you can shop and find one like I did for $199.
Picture quality is excellent and the sound is like being there. It works great on regular screen (Normal TV viewing.) and Widescreen. (Widescreen is what is shown in the theaters.)
The remote is very simply and easy to use, only 10 keys to remember. It is very responsive as you press the buttons. If you get confused with all the remotes that have 30 to 50 buttons, then you will love this one.
You can play both Dolby and DTS DVD discs as well as your audio CD's and some CDRW discs. The only drawback I have is you cannot play Mp3 files on it, some newer models offer this.
Kenwood is a name you can trust, I highly recommend this one.
